Nell needed to eat. Amos had soaked through his diaper. Vera would not settle unless someone held her upright against a shoulder.
I looked at Gareth.
“Can you take Amos?”
He stared at the three bassinets as if he had never seen them before.
“Which one is Amos?”
“The blue blanket.”
He lifted our son awkwardly.
“What do I do?”
“Change him.”
“Right now?”
